Firefighters say they were able to quickly get the fire under control. The house suffered extensive damage, but fire investigator Les Mroz with St. Albert Fire Services say the damage is mainly to the exterior of the home.

The houses next door to the one that burned suffered minor siding damage.

“In this case, there’s good spatial separation between the lots, so that helped a lot… from the fire – the damage – spreading to those houses,” Mroz explained.
