Man hospitalized after shooting at west Lethbridge home

A 54-year-old man was taken to hospital after a shooting at a west Lethbridge home on March 20.

According to police, officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault at a home along Rutgers Crescent W. shortly before 6:30 a.m., Monday. A man was transported to hospital to receive treatment for a gunshot wound.

Police say the victim confronted his ex-girlfriend, along with “her male associate” inside his home.

After a short conversation, the woman shot the victim before the man assaulted him. The pair then left in the victim’s truck, which was recovered not far from the home, LPS said.

A firearm was seized, police said.

Later that day, police arrested a 38-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man.

Kristina Hatcher, 38, of Lethbridge was charged with: aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, assault – choking, theft of a vehicle, discharging a firearm with intent to injure, use of a firearm while committing an offence, careless use/storage of a firearm, pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, mischief, robbery with a firearm, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and uttering threats.

Robert Duane Vincent, 41, of Claresholm, is charged with: aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, assaulting – choking, theft of a vehicle, discharge a firearm with intent to injure, use of a firearm while committing an offence, careless use/storage of a firearm, pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowingly possessing an unauthorized firearm, mischief, possession of a firearm contrary to an order, robbery with a firearm and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.

Hatcher and Vincent were remanded in custody. Hatcher is scheduled to appear in court on March 22 and Vincent on March 28.

The investigation is ongoing.

As of Tuesday morning, the victim remained in hospital in stable condition.
