Season ends abruptly for Lethbridge College’s men’s volleyball team

LETHBRIDGE, Alta.-  The Lethbridge College men’s volleyball team will see their season come to an abrupt end because it no longer has a sufficient number of players to field a team.

An undisclosed number of players have been removed from the team for violating the Kodiaks’ athletic policy.

As a result, the team is now left with too few players to complete the season.

While the college is not confirming why the players have been removed, sources tell Global News the decision is connected to the use of the popular street drug, MDMA.

Concerns were brought to the school over the weekend and the college removed the players from the team on Monday night.

“When athletes break their code of conduct, you have to make decisions,” says Avery Harrison, Lethbridge College’s Athletic Director. “Our decision was that players who broke our code of conduct wouldn’t wouldn’t be part of our program anymore.”
