SASKATOON – A Saskatoon man is facing drug and weapons charges after police spotted a car driving without a licence plate on Sunday.
Around 5 p.m., police stopped the vehicle in the 700-block of 1st Avenue North.
As an officer approached the car, the handle of a machete was spotted on the floor.
A 28-year-old man was then detained but further investigation uncovered items consistent with narcotics trafficking.
A small amount of methamphetamine and Oxycontin was found along with drug paraphernalia, cash and cellphones.
He was scheduled to make his first court appearance on Monday.
