Three men face second-degree murder charges in October killing

WINNIPEG – A 23-year-old who died Oct. 30 was killed by three men he was socializing with, Winnipeg police allege.

Jamie Cook met up with three men and went to the home of one of them for a party, police said Monday.

At some point the other three men grew angry with Cook and beat him to death, police said.

Cook was found dead on the 400 block of King Street at about 8 a.m. after someone placed an emergency call.

Police have arrested three men and charged them with second-degree murder.

Lyle James Lester Letandre, 19, Aaron Freedom Bluestar Meekis, 27, and Kelvin Edwin George Orvis, 27, have been charged with killing Cook. They are being held at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
