WINNIPEG – A man who was severely injured in a fight early Sunday died later in the day, Winnipeg police say.
Gary Nathan Houle, 23, and another man got in a fight on the 300 block of Bannerman Avenue and Houle was critically injured, police said Sunday. The two men knew each other, police said.
Houle was taken to hospital, where he died later on Sunday, police said Monday morning.
Police arrested Jerry Samuel William Francois, 26, on Sunday and charged him with aggravated assault. Those charges have now been upgraded to manslaughter.
Francois is being held at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
