Darius McCrary joined the cast of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS as Malcolm Winters in December, 2009. A world-renowned photographer, Malcolm returned to Genoa City to see his brother, Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John), and to reunite with his biological daughter, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). However, the reunion was not as easy as he had hoped as Malcolm realized he had to deal with old wounds and new obstacles.

A native of Southern California, McCrary began his acting career when he was eight years old and, at age 13, he was playing the role of Eddie Winslow on the sitcom "Family Matters." By age 21, McCrary had shared the screen with stars such as Robert De Niro, Gene Hackman and Willem Dafoe.

His television credits include "Committed," "Eve," "Girlfriends," "Moesha," "Don King: Only in America," the mini-series "Kingpin," and the made for television. movie "Something to Sing About." McCrary has also been in films such as "Mississippi Burning," "Vampires: Los Muertos," "Transformers," "Big Shots," "Steppin: The Movie," "SAW VI" and "Hostage."

McCrary, who is also a song writer, singer and music producer, is the son of Grammy nominated gospel/jazz musician Howard McCrary. McCrary has a passion for music and devotes a great deal of his time to writing, singing and producing original tracks for his upcoming musical CD where he plays many instruments including the drums, piano and harmonica. But it is the acoustic guitar that has helped McCrary find his own voice and forge the sound of his band, The D-List. Throughout his musical career he has worked with artists such as Rick James, Jon Bon Jovi, Greg Phillenganes, Keith Murray and Bobby Brown. His collaboration with Mikki Howard on her album, Three Wishes, earned them a Grammy nomination.

In his free time, McCrary likes spending time with his two-year-old son. He also enjoys martial arts, bowling, working on his many business ventures and mentoring young children while finding time to spend with his family and friends. McCrary is working on the opening of his own charitable foundation that will house and care for orphaned children.
