Two people were sent to hospital after an early morning three-vehicle collision in east Hamilton, according to police.
Investigators say the crash happened just after 4:30 a.m. on Centennial Parkway between Ridge Road and King Street East.
Police said a southbound pickup truck crossed over into oncoming traffic and collided with a northbound SUV.
“The initial collision forced the SUV into a collision with a third vehicle, also an SUV,” police said in a news release.
Officers said the driver of the pickup truck — a 35-year-old man — was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
According to police, he remains in hospital in critical but stable condition.
The driver of the SUV — a 39-year-old — suffered minor injuries.
The third driver was not injured, police said.
According to police, investigation revealed that the pickup truck had been reported stolen.
“The driver of the pickup has been positively identified and faces criminal charges,” police said.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
“Impairment and speed have not been ruled out,” officers said.
