Jill Foster grew up a poor child in a broken home, constantly dreaming of the rich and easy life. As fate would have it, she quickly climbed her way from a poor shampoo girl to become an integral member of the wealthy Chancellor Family. Several affairs and marriages under her belt, Jill Foster had become an established member of Genoa City society.

While dating young Jack Abbott, Jill set her sites on his father, John. John Abbott, the wealthy founder of Jabot Cosmetics, reciprocated Jill’s interest and the two started a controversial relationship. In 1982, the couple married and enjoyed several years of happiness. Jill’s strong personality, however, began to wear on John and his longtime maid, Mamie. Tension in the house mounted causing many heated arguments to erupt. After one fight in particular, Jill stormed out of the house and into Jack’s arms. Hurt by Jill and betrayed by his own son, John divorced his adulterous wife.

Although legally and romantically separated, Jack and Jill remained in each other’s lives. In order to keep her one-night-affair with Jack quiet, John drafted a divorce settlement that granted Jill a percentage of Jabot Cosmetics and a seat on the board of directors. As a single woman with time and money, Jill gallivanted about town getting involved in several affairs. Eventually, however, she came to recognize her true love for John. The couple reconciled and remarried on January 7, 1992. Their wedding song was appropriately titled, ‘Second Time Around.’

Determined to start a family, Jill got pregnant against John’s wishes. John felt he was too old to be a father and he urged her to terminate the pregnancy. As a precaution, he also underwent a vasectomy. Jill carried the baby to term and gave birth to William ‘Billy’ Abbott. The smooth sailing relationship hit stormy weather when Jill had an affair with Jed Saunders due to John’s impotency. Burned by the callous actions of his wife, John divorced Jill. He suffered a stroke from the stress caused by the settlement and the bitter custody battle over Billy. Jill has since moved back into the Chancellor Estate, where she lives just as she did years ago, alone.
