The victim in a hit-and-run early Monday morning has died, Winnipeg police say.

The incident took place around 3 a.m. at Keewatin Street and Notre Dame Avenue. When police arrived, paramedics were on scene treating the victim, a 56-year-old man, who was rushed to hospital in critical condition.

According to police, the vehicle fled the scene and remains at large.

Investigators are looking for a white or light-coloured SUV and reaching out to the public for any information and/or dash cam footage of the suspect vehicle.
