Police said the rider suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The SUV driver brought her vehicle to a stop and remained at the scene, officers said, adding she was not injured.

The speed of the motorcycle is considered to be a factor in the crash, but alcohol and drugs are not.

Police said northbound Stoney Trail where the crash occurred remained closed until a traffic investigation was done.
