Kelowna’s newest park is now open to the public.
Stuart Park, named after former mayor Jim Stuart, un-officially opened Tuesday morning after crews completed the last work on concrete sealant.
The park includes a civic plaza open space that converts to an ice rink in winter.
The official Stuart Park opening will be held later this year when a large bear sculpture is installed on a promontory in the centre of the park.
A chiller installed at Kelowna City Hall acts as an air conditioning unit for the building in summer and ice slab freezer for the park in winter.
