1 injured, several arrests amid ‘student incidents’ at MacNab Secondary in Hamilton: police

Police say one person was injured and a number of people arrested following incidents around a Hamilton Mountain public school Thursday.

A police spokesperson told Global News “several different incidents” took place around 9 a.m. at Sir Allan MacNab Secondary School, which prompted a hold and secure protocol at the Magnolia Drive learning facility.

“The incidents occurred both on and off school property,” Const. Krista-Lee Ernst said in an email.

“Upon arrival one student was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and several arrests have been made.”

Ernst revealed a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old female were arrested for assault while another 16-year-old girl was arrested for uttering threats and a 36-year-old woman arrested for causing a disturbance.

The adult female was not an employee of the school.

The Hamilton Wentworth District School Board said the precautionary hold and secure was lifted just after noon.

The investigation is ongoing.
