CALGARY – Officials say damage from a fire in a Mission condo building on Monday is extensive.
The blaze broke out just after 4 a.m. on the second floor of a building in the 2400 block of 1st Street S.W.
The condo building is just partially occupied as it is new, and people are still moving in. Only two of ten suites had people living in them.

The area where the fire originated is a show suite and not supposed to be housing anyone; however, one person was removed from the suite and was questioned by police. He has since been released, and no charges were laid.
The fire department believes five other people were living in the building, but that hasn’t been confirmed.
Officials say there is smoke damage throughout the condo building.
The fire department is still looking into what caused the blaze, and says the arson unit continues to investigate.
