CALGARY – A man in his 20’s was killed after being hit by a car in Douglasdale on Wednesday.
Emergency crews were called to Douglasdale Boulevard and Douglas Woods Way S.E. around 6:45 a.m.
Witnesses told investigators the pedestrian was walking in a marked crosswalk when one vehicle stopped to allow him to across.

A second vehicle pulled out from behind the stopped vehicle and struck the pedestrian.
The victim was rushed to hospital in critical, life-threatening condition – but succumbed to his injuries later in hospital.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was interviewed by investigators.
Police believe driver inattention played a role in this collision, and charges are pending.
The case was the second deadly crash involving a pedestrian on Wednesday, as another man was killed during a hit and run.
