MONTREAL- Conditions have improved in the raging forest fire situation in Quebec with some rain and decreased winds.
The fires burning in the bush are down to 41, with six of those qualified as out of control.
The amount of rain that fell on the burning forests ranged from 2 to 6 centimetres- not a lot, but enough to dampen the ground and raise humidity levels.
Ground crews are now fighting the fires, as smoke and a lack of wind led to poor visibility for pilots of firefighting planes.
More to come.
