Soldiers return today from Afghanistan

A group of Shilo-based soldiers are returning today from their latest tour of duty in Afghanistan.

About 60 soldiers are coming back to Manitoba from a four-month deployment that was part of the final rotation of Canadian soldiers serving with Operation Attention.

Operation Attention focused on training Afghan army and police members.

Training activities by Canadians in Kabul, Afghanistan, started to wind down at the beginning of the month and soldiers are now beginning to return.

Approximately 350 soldiers from Shilo took part in the four-month deployment.

All Operation Attention personnel and equipment are to return to Canada by March 2014.
