Car hits moose near Davin, Sask.

DAVIN, Sask. – One man to was sent to hospital Thursday morning after his car hit a moose in southern Saskatchewan.

RCMP were called to Highway 48 near Davin, SK where a Toyota Camry collided with a moose.

The driver said the animal suddenly appeared out of a ditch and on to the highway and he was unable to avoid hitting it.

After the collision the moose ran into the woods, and the driver had to be transported to a hospital in Regina with non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP are reminding motorists that between September and November are the months when most of the vehicle/wildlife collisions happen and to be extra vigilant during this time.
