October 16 – The body of Cory Fergus has now been found.

UPDATE: The search has now been called off for a missing canoeist who disappeared off Boundary Bay. His empty canoe was found floating in U.S. waters off Roberts Bank yesterday afternoon.

Search crews continue to look for a canoeist who’s been missing more than 24 hours.

43-year-old Cory Fergus set out Monday evening to check crab traps off Centennial Beach in Tsawwassen. He never returned and was reported missing Tuesday night.

On Wednesday afternoon, searchers spotted a canoe matching the description of the boat Fergus was in.  But Fergus is still missing.

Fergus is described as Caucasian, 6’2″ tall, with a medium build, blue eyes, light brown hair and a small goatee.
