Emergency crews were called to Jane Street and Wilson Avenue at around 8:34 p.m. for reports of gunshots heard.

When they arrived, they found a man suffering “with a gunshot wound (whose) injuries appear life-threatening,” Toronto police said.

Paramedics also assessed the victim but he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

On Tuesday, police identified the victim as Calvin Andre Scott, a 32-year-old man from Toronto.

Police said a vehicle was then carjacked by the suspect wanted for the fatal shooting.

The suspect fled the area through the parking lot of Sheridan mall, police said.

The vehicle is described as a black 2022 Toyota Corolla with Ontario licence plate number CVZW 153.
