North Battleford RCMP make arrest following armed and barricaded crisis

North Battleford RCMP announced on Monday morning that a police operation in response to an armed and barricaded situation in the community has come to an end.

On Sunday, RCMP had asked people in the community to avoid an area in the northwest corner of the city after being called to the armed and barricaded crisis.

Police say the operation has resulted in a man being arrested without incident.

RCMP officers and additional resources have since left the scene and police say they believe “there is no risk to public safety at this point relating to this situation.”

An RCMP release sent at 5:20 p.m. on Sunday indicated that officers secured the area around an apartment building on the 2400 block of Killdeer Street.

RCMP add that the investigation is ongoing.
