CALGARY- More than three months since the June flood that devastated their community, all health services have now been restored in High River.
When the flood hit, health care staff and emergency crews were forced to move over 100 patients out of the town, to temporary locations in Calgary.

After lots of hard work, all health facilities damaged by the water have been repaired and are back open, including the cancer, maternity, and long-term care wards.
The hospital’s chief of staff emotionally thanked the staff, for making it all happen.
“My colleagues through this have been working so hard and so diligently,” said Dr. Keith Speckman. “Now I know them the best, they were hit hard, many of them, and through all of this they’ve been working, providing medical care from day one.”
The hospital’s emergency department reopened on August 8, while the reconstruction of private medial health practices is ongoing.
