Hundreds sleep out at Portage and Main

More than 100 local CEOs signed up for this year's CEO Sleepout. Global News

WINNIPEG — Hundreds of local executives called Portage Avenue and Main Street home overnight to raise funds and awareness for Change for the Better.

The third annual CEO Sleepout started at 7 p.m. Every year the event has grown; in 2012, there were around 50 participants, this year more than 100.

Participants had the opportunity to tour local shelters and engage in conversation about how to help Winnipeg’s homeless.

Money raised from the event goes to Change for the Better. The campaign helps employ Winnipeg’s homeless people. So far more than $190,000 has been raised by this year’s sleepout event. To help, click here.
