TORONTO – Another photo purporting to show the jersey that Canadian hockey stars will be wearing at the 2014 Olympics as been leaked on social media.
The photo was posted to the Reddit.com subreddit /r/hockey on Tuesday afternoon by user ‘justacanuck88.’
In comments in the ensuing thread, the user describes the jerseys as feeling “similar to a soccer jersey” and having maple leaves on the shoulders.
The photos shows three jerseys; one primarily red with a white horizontal stripe across the middle, another primarily white with a red horizontal stripe across the middle. Both have a large maple leaf in the banner. The third jersey is primarily black with a red and gold banner through the middle and “CANADA” emblazoned inside. All three bear the Nike logo on the right chest.
The photo is the second alleging to show the Canadian Olympic hockey team’s logo. The first leaked on Reddit earlier in September showing Jonathon Toews wearing the jersey during what appears to be a photo shoot.
The photo was quickly criticized as resembling the Petro-Canada logo.
