TORONTO — A Beverly Hills police sergeant is accused of sneaking a peek at singer Whitney Houston’s naked body and making “inappropriate comments.”
The allegations come from Sgt. Brian Weir, who filed a lawsuit Sept. 11 against the Beverly Hills Police Department and the City of Beverly Hills claiming he was retaliated against after reporting misconduct by fellow officers at the scene of Houston’s death.
The singer was found in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton in February 2012. A coroner ruled she died of accidental drowning with heart disease and cocaine use listed as contributing factors.
Weir claimed Sgt. Terry Nutall “removed the sheet and/or other covering from the body … to an area below the pubic region” and commented that Houston “looked attractive for a woman of her age and current state.”
According to Weir, Nutall said: “Damn, she’s still looking good, huh?”
He further alleged Nutall moved the body, potentially harming the integrity of the scene.
After reporting the alleged behaviour, Weir said he was reassigned, ostracized and harassed.
Beverly Hills Police Lt. Lincoln Hoshino told the Los Angeles Times he could not comment on Weir’s lawsuit.
