Boy hit on way to school still in hospital

WINNIPEG – A boy hit by a vehicle as he crossed Langside Street on his way to school Wednesday is still in hospital.

Police are investigating the collision in which the 10-year-old, who was headed west across Langside at Westminster Avenue just before 9 a.m., was hit by a southbound vehicle.

The boy was taken to hospital in critical condition and there’s been no report his condition has changed, police said.

A van marked “Derksen Plumbing and Heating” was stopped at the intersection, which is near Balmoral Hall school.

Police are asking anyone with information about the collision to contact investigators at 204-986-6271 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
