Pilot left with minor injuries after glider crash in Langley, B.C.

A young man has escaped with minor injuries after his glider crashed into a convenience store in Langley, B.C. Sunday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the scene at 56th Avenue and 208 Street, about a kilometre away from the municipal airport.

Witnesses said the Air Cadet glider was heading towards the airport and was losing altitude when it clipped a tree and crash landed on the convenience store.

Witnesses said the pilot had a couple broken ribs, but was walking around after the crash.

He was taken to hospital to be checked out.

Residents of the area said there is a lot of glider traffic in the area.

Damage to the convenience store appears to be minimal.
