According to producers, the show is set “at a unique company that specializes in breaking-up romantic relationships — rationally, compassionately, thoroughly — on behalf of those who are willing to pay to not be around when it happens.”

Rappaport will play Alex, who takes a job at the agency after he’s dumped by one of its representatives.

The pilot, written by Zev Borow (Chuck) will be directed by Lorene Scafaria, an actress and musician who recently directed an episode of New Girl.

Production of the Love Is Dead pilot is scheduled to begin this fall.
