Manitoba man arrested for school bus theft

REGINA – RCMP have charged a Manitoba man with stealing a school bus in southern Saskatchewan earlier this week.

On Tuesday, RCMP received a call that a school bus had been stolen from a rural property near Moose Jaw.

There were reports that it was being driven erratically down the highway, heading east on the Trans-Canada Highway just outside of Regina.

Eventually the school bus was spotted by police about two kilometres from Mclean, where they arrested the only person on the bus.

27-year-old Lionel Young of Brandon, Man., is facing a theft of a motor vehicle charge and is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Nov. 6.
