Police identifies victim of fatal shooting in north London, Ont. as 30-year-old woman

London, Ont., police have released the identity of the victim who died in a fatal shooting in the city’s north end.

Police say it is believed to be a targeted attack.

Officials say around 7:55 p.m. Friday, officers were called to the area of Wateroak Drive and Heardcreek Trail, in the Whitehills neighbourhood, for reports of multiple gunshots.

When police arrived, they found one person with life-threatening injuries who was rushed to hospital and later succumbed to their injuries.

Police have identified the deceased as 30-year-old Lynda Cruz Marques.

According to her Instagram page, Marques was a registered nurse with over seven years of experience within different settings including long term care homes and hospitals across London, Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.

Her Instagram bio says she was a certified advanced nurse injector,⁣ and ran her own botox and fillers clinic called Face by Lynda.

There is no threat to public safety, police say.

London police ask anyone who was in the area between 4 p.m. and 7:55 p.m. Friday or who may have dashcam video to contact (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
