Police investigate fatal crash near Wardsville, Ont.

Elgin County OPP say one person is dead after a crash south of Wardsville on Thursday evening.

Two vehicles collided on Johnston Line at around 8 p.m. Thursday, and police found one person dead at the scene.

According to police, a pickup truck and a hatchback collided.

The deceased was in the hatchback and has been identified by police as Leslie McInnis-Walker, 53, of Acton. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday in London.

A passenger in the hatchback was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the driver of the truck was not injured.

Police are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
