Investigators from the Peel Police Special Victims Unit are investigating a sexual assault involving an HIV-positive Brampton man.
Police have charged 42-year-old Pham Cao Le with aggravated sexual assault.
The charges stem from an Oct. 31 incident, in which Le allegedly engaged in what police describe as "intimate contact" with an unnamed 26-year-old male victim.
Police say Le did not disclose his medical condition to the victim.
Investigators say they believe Le has been aware of his HIV-positive status for approximately seven years. Police further say he has had intimate contact with other adults and failed to disclose his status to them.
Police are issuing a public safety advisory and appealing for others to come forward. They urge anyone who has had intimate contact with Le to call them immediately, and to seek medical attention.
Le is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Dec. 21.
