2 injured and arrested after nighttime stabbing in Lindsay: police

Police in Lindsay are investigating a reported stabbing on Wednesday night – Jul 15, 2021

Two people were charged following a reported stabbing in Lindsay on Wednesday night.

Around 10:30 p.m., City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service officers and Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Service members responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of Lindsay Street South and George Street East.

Blood and blood-stained clothing could be seen on the pavement in the area near a car dealership.

Police remained at the scene for several hours as they investigated.

On Thursday afternoon, police said two parties had been involved in a verbal argument.

“One of the parties was struck with a blunt weapon while the other was struck with an edged weapon,” stated Const. Keith Watson in a release.

Police said both individuals were treated at Ross Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Both have been charged with weapons-related offences.

No names or specific charges were released.

“Police wish to assure the public there is no concern for public safety,” police said.
