Global News is projecting Aaron Paquette has won the seat in Dene.
With all polls reporting Tuesday morning, unofficial election results show Paquette received 53.62 per cent of the vote.
Paquette is the incumbent, seeking re-election as councillor in this northeast Edmonton ward.

Edmonton’s municipal wards will be redrawn and renamed effective election day Oct. 18. Formerly Ward 4, this ward is being renamed Dene (Pronunciation: DEH-NEH).
Paquette is running against four other people.
Here’s a quick look at the candidates running for council in Dene.
Andy Andrzej Gudanowski
Gudanowski’s says his platform focuses on security, responsibility and prosperity.
His campaign website largely focuses on the goals he had in 2019, when he said his intention was to run as an MP in Edmonton-Griesbach.
Gerard Mutabazi Amani
After arriving in Canada as a government-sponsored refugee at the age of 12, Mutabazi Amani says his purpose has always been to serve humanity and improve their livelihood.
His platform focuses on investing in affordable housing, supporting community organizations and businesses, improving Indigenous relations and effective and affordable public transit.

Lana Palmer
Palmer has worked as a dental assistant for the last 14 years and says she is not “your standard politician.”
She says the belief that her and her family’s interests are not being represented at the municipal level is what drove her to run for council.
Her platform focuses on meaningful economic recovery, responsible city governance and community.
Aaron Paquette
Paquette has been the councillor in this ward for the last four years.
He describes himself as an advocate for building strong and healthy communities.
His priorities for the ward include good jobs and a thriving economy, safety and recreation, as well as responsible budgeting and planning.
Tricia Velthuizen
Velthuizen is a lifelong Edmontonian who wants to serve the city in a new way.
She says she has seen people take the community for granted, adding a committed, strong voice is needed to ensure the issues of the area become issues for all Edmontonians.
Her goal is to build a stronger city that is equipped to benefit from and capitalize on future economic growth.
In total, 11 people are running for mayor and 74 candidates are running for city council. Eight people are running to become Edmonton Catholic School Board trustees, six of whom have been acclaimed. There are 40 people are running to become Edmonton Public School Board trustees.
Advance voting will take place from Oct. 4 to Oct. 13, including Thanksgiving Monday (Oct. 11).
Election day is Monday, Oct. 18.
