Weather agency cancels severe thunderstorm watch for Toronto

TORONTO – Environment Canada has cancelled a severe thunderstorm watch for Toronto.

The alert was issued for the city of Toronto just after 1 p.m. Monday and lasted until 4 p.m.

The weather agency said the storm could bring large hail, damaging wings or heavy rainfall.

The severe weather is coming from the northwest and much of southern Ontario was under the alert for much of Monday afternoon.  The weather agency cancelled the watch for Toronto, Hamilton, Halton-Peel, Huron-Perth, Waterloo-Wellington and York-Durham after 4 p.m.
