OSOYOOS — A handful of people living 10 kilometers west of Osoyoos have been evacuated from their homes due to a 20-hectare fire.
The fire, near Richter pass, grew throughout Monday night but officials at the Wildfire management branch say they have it under control.

Over 30 firefighters are battling the blaze on the ground and in helicopters, and officials are asking people to stay away from Old Richter Pass Road.
Officials say the fire was human caused but no other information is available at this time.
