Canada election results: New Brunswick Southwest

Incumbent John Williamson is projected to be re-elected in the riding of New Brunswick Southwest.

The riding of New Brunswick Southwest is located in the southwestern part of the province. It includes Charlotte County, and parts of the counties of Kings, Queens, York, Sunbury and Satin John.

A portion of it sits on the Bay of Fundy, and borders with the United States.

The riding has remained consistently Conservative. However, it went Liberal in 2015 when Karen Ludwig beat Conservative John Williamson, but returned to Conservative when Williamson defeated Ludwig in 2019 with 49.1 per cent of the vote.

Prior to his election to the House of Commons in 2011, Williamson worked as director of communications in the prime minister’s office under Stephen Harper.
