MONTREAL – Furniture chain Ikea Canada has issued a repair recall for two children’s beds with a metal rod that could break and potentially cause harm.
Ikea issued the voluntary recall for repair for KRITTER beds stamped with the manufacturing dates 1114-1322 and SNIGLAR beds labelled 1114-1318.
The labels can be found underneath or along the side of the bed.

There have been no reports of injury in Canada, but Ikea has received seven reports globally where the metal rod connecting the guardrail to the bed frame has broken.
The broken rod can then expose sharp metal edges, presenting a possible laceration hazard.
Customers who have purchased beds made during these periods should immediately visit their local IKEA store for a free repair kit.

The company said it has sold about 200,000 of the faulty beds globally and 18,000 in Canada.
