CALGARY- A three-year-old penguin has passed away at the Calgary Zoo.
Guillermo, a Humboldt penguin, arrived in Calgary in December 2011 from a zoo in New York.
On Saturday, zoo keepers noticed that he was lethargic and didn’t have much of an appetite. He was monitored closely by keepers and vets, given daily treatment and help eating, but showed no improvement.

He died on Monday evening.
Zoo officials say he had been well, and in good condition before falling ill over the weekend.
A post-mortem was done to determine the cause of death, and the results are expected in one week.
