No criminal charges to be laid in Canada in Jenkins case

No criminal charges will be laid in Canada in connection to the Ryan Jenkins case, B.C. RCMP announced Friday.

Investigators say that there is "no evidence" to charge anyone who came into contact with the Calgary reality TV actor accused in the murder of his ex-wife, bikini model Jasmine Fiore.

The RCMP news release said this applies to "the woman who dropped him [Jenkins] off at a motel" last week.

The RCMP said they were not considering charges because a warrant was not issued in Canada for Jenkins’ arrest until Aug. 21, the day after he was dropped off at the Thunderbird Motel in Hope, B.C..

Jenkins, 32, was found dead at the motel Sunday, an apparent suicide. An employee found his body hanging from a coat rack.

He was considered a prime suspect in Fiore’s death.

The 28-year-old model’s mutilated body was found stuffed into a suitcase and dumped in a trash bin Aug. 15 in Buena Park, Calif., about 30 kilometres southeast of Los Angeles.

Prosecutors in the U.S. have not changed their contention Jenkins is the sole person responsible for killing Fiore, removing her fingers and teeth, and stuffing her naked body in a suitcase that was then left in a garbage bin in Buena Park, near Los Angeles.

Fiore’s white Mercedes was discovered abandoned in a West Hollywood parking lot Wednesday.

California police say they’ve found evidence of a violent, bloody struggle inside the abandoned car owned by Fiore.

Police reportedly said there was evidence the car had been off-road, and had recently been cleaned and washed down.
