EDMONTON – The countdown is on to North America’s largest and longest-running Fringe Festival.

In just over a week (on August 15), the 32nd annual Edmonton International Fringe Festival will kick off in Old Strathcona, with some shows spilling over into downtown, and onto Alberta Avenue.

This year’s “From Fringe with Love” theme promises 11 days of Bond-inspired danger, excitement, adventure, and of course, theatre.

There are definitely plenty of performances to choose from, tickets for which went on sale Tuesday at noon.

And in addition to a festival app, Fringe-goers will get to enjoy a few other upgrades.

“We’ve expanded our south beer gardens,” says Jill Roszell, Executive Director of the Festival. “We have a community patio by Kids Fringe, where you can come and sit down and just relax, you know grab a bite to eat, hang out.”

If you’re not quite sure which shows to check out, Todd James will have live reviews during Global Edmonton‘s Early News, News Hour and News Hour Final over the course of the festival.

The Fringe will wrap up August 25.
