Crystal is a student at Grant Macewan College, and is also currently employed at Enbridge Pipelines. Aside from working and going to school, she spends the majority of her time travelling and showing her Arabian horses. Her mare, Soleya, has won 23 national championships, making her the most successful half Arabian mare in history. “When people stop me to ask questions about her, I feel like a celebrity. However, I quickly realized that she’s the celebrity, not me.” With all the travelling they do, Crystal and her horses experience interesting weather all over North America, including a tornado touch-down in Red Deer a few years back. “The horses are very intuitive. You always know when the weather’s going to get really interesting just by the way they react to it.”
