Regina police identify victim of city’s first homicide of 2021

The victim of Regina’s first homicide of 2021 has been identified by police as 38-year-old Amber Dawn Wood of Bienfait, Sask.

Police were called to a home in the 700 block of Athol Street around 8:10 a.m. Saturday for a report of a woman who was shot.

Officers found Wood suffering from serious injuries, according to a police news release.

Paramedics rushed Wood to hospital, but she has since died.

Police said family members are aware of her death.
