Nova Scotia Health has issued potential COVID-19 exposure notifications for a total of nine locations in Truro, N.S., and two flights to Halifax.
The news came as Nova Scotia reported only one new case of the coronavirus on Tuesday.
Tuesday morning, health officials flagged two locations in Truro for a potential exposure to the virus, including:
- Foodland at 241 Pictou Rd., on Jan. 2 between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
- Sobeys at 68 Robie St., on Jan. 4 between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Nova Scotia Health is asking anyone who visited these two locations on the specified date and times to immediately self-isolate and contact 811 or go to the province’s COVID-19 self-assessment page to arrange for COVID-19 testing, regardless of whether they have COVID-19 symptoms.
Tuesday afternoon, the following seven Truro locations were added to the list:
- Shoppers Drug Mart at 106 Robie St., on Jan. 4 between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and Jan. 7 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Canadian Tire at 90 Robie St., on Jan. 5 between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
- Atlantic Superstore at 46 Elm St., on Jan. 5 between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.
- Walmart at 140 Wade Rd., on Jan. 5 between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.
- “The Store” in North River, on Jan. 5 between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
- Shur-Gain Feeds and Needs at 50 Juniper St., on Jan. 7 between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
- Global Pet Foods at 68 Robie St. on Jan. 7 between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Nova Scotia Health is asking anyone who visited these seven locations on the specified date and times to visit the province’s COVID-19 self-assessment page to arrange for COVID-19 testing, regardless of whether they have COVID-19 symptoms, “out of an abundance of caution.”
The province is also flagging two flights to Halifax on which a passenger has tested positive.
Anyone who was on the following flights in the specified rows and seats is asked to continue to self-isolate and immediately go to the COVID-19 self-assessment page to book a COVID-19 test.
Passengers on Air Canada flight 614, travelling on Jan. 5, from Toronto at 2:31 p.m. to Halifax at 5:45 p.m., in rows 12-18 seats A, B, C and D are asked to get tested.
Passengers on Air Canada flight 624 travelling on Jan. 8, from Toronto at 9:30 p.m., arriving to Halifax on Jan. 9 at 12:30 a.m., in rows 3-16 seats A, B, C and D are asked to get tested.
Individuals who have symptoms are required to self-isolate while awaiting results. Individuals who do not have symptoms do not need to self-isolate unless specified by the province.
Nova Scotia recommends visiting the province’s website to do a self-assessment if, in the past 48 hours, individuals have had or are currently experiencing:
- fever
- cough
Or two or more of the following symptoms:
- sore throat
- runny nose/nasal congestion
- headache
- shortness of breath
