Around 3 p.m., Cogeco tweeted that the outages had been, for the most part, resolved.

These province-wide outages came on the second day of remote learning in Ontario.

Students in Ontario began online learning due Monday to the rising cases of the coronavirus across the province.

On Tuesday, many took to social media, saying the outages interrupted remote learning.

Several school boards in Ontario, including some in Windsor, Niagara, Ottawa and Kingston, advised of the service disruptions and asked parents to be patient as they attempted to gain access to online classes.

The company did not clarify how many customers were affected when asked, but said it experienced “technical issues” with its internet services Tuesday.

Cogeco did not say what caused the internet interruptions, but apologized for the inconvenience of the outages.

Our engineering teams worked diligently throughout the morning and early afternoon and have now taken steps to mitigate any customer impact,” the company said Tuesday afternoon.
