TORONTO — Get the baby-size T-shirts ready: Simon Cowell is going to be a first-time dad.
The 53-year-old judge on The X-Factor is expecting a baby with Lauren Silverman, a 36-year-old socialite, according to media reports.
Silverman is still married to Cowell’s good friend, real estate mogul Andrew Silverman.
In an interview with AOL Music last year, Cowell said he was too busy to focus on fatherhood.
“The problem has always been how much time you need to devote to bringing up kids and I’ve always dedicated all my life to work,” he said. “I’ve probably missed the opportunity.”
Cowell was previously engaged to makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy and has been romantically linked to actress Carmen Electra, singer Dannii Minogue and TV personality Terri Seymour.
