CALGARY – The province has announced additional support for small businesses impacted by recent and widespread flooding in southern Alberta and Wood Buffalo.
On Monday, officials announced they would be moving to help small businesses with 21 to 50 full-time employees through the Small Business Rebuilding Program.
The program will help cover things like the rental of office space and equipment – and the clean-up of a business as they prepare to re-open.

“A lot of businesses that were affected by the flooding are at risk of not being able to reopen their doors and can use all the assistance they can get,” said Adam Legge, President and CEO of the Calgary Chamber. “The Small Business Rebuilding Program will help businesses in the Calgary region get back on their feet and get back to business as quickly as possible.”
The province had previously announced the Disaster Recovery Program (DRP), which helps businesses with up to 20 employees.
The eligibility criteria for the Small Business Rebuilding Program is the same as the Disaster Recovery Program.
The program also uses the same application form as DRP, which can be downloaded and mailed to the address provided on the form.
In addition, the province has introduced the Hand-Up plan, which provides low-interest loans and interest rebates.
