New tropical depression forms in Pacific

TORONTO – Tropical Depression Seven-E has formed in the Pacific Ocean, off the coast of Mexico.

The tropical depression is well away from the Mexican coast and so far poses no threat to land. It is moving west-northwest at 26 km/h with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h.

The National Hurricane Center out of Miami, Florida, said that the depression could become a tropical storm later Tuesday.
