Health Canada has issued a recall to Canadians to stop using all cribs with model number 612619CH made by Bambino Reale Furniture which is a subsidary of Ragazzi Furniture.
The recall was issued after a customer complained about the crib not meeting minimum height requirements.
Minimum side height requirements for cribs are established by the Cribs and Cradles Regulations under the Hazardous Products Act (HPA).
HPA says the cribs do not provide an adequate barrier to prevent babies and young children from falling or climbing out of the cribs.
There is a potential risk of serious injury following a fall from the crib, such as broken bones, fractures or concussions.
Bambino Reale, part of Ragazzi Furniture, is a Quebec based nursery furniture manufacturer tbat has gone out of business.
The crib model that is recalled was made in Chile.
Health Canada has not receieved any reports of injuries. They advise anyone who owns one of the cribs that are part of the recall to disassemble it and dispose of it in a safe way to prevent it from being used again.
