Bill Durnan leaving Cosette Toronto

Winding up a transition process that began last year, senior
ad executive Bill Durnan announced he is leaving Cossette Toronto.
Mr. Durnan, who joined Cossette nine years ago, worked most recently
as convergent creative director at the agency's Toronto office and
stayed in the mix while the Quebec-based head office faced a hostile
takeover last year from its former founder. Earlier, Mr. Durnan
served as interim president of the company and president of Nucleus,
Cossette's strategic planning division. "My most recent role has
been to help in the transition towards a new generation of creative
leadership in the company and my work is done," Mr. Durnan said.
Last year he handed responsibility for the Cossette creative
department to Pete Breton and Dave Douglass, who are now co-chief
creative officers of the Toronto office. Mr. Durnan began his career
as an account person and went on to become a copywriter, a creative
director, a strategist and an agency president. In other Cossette
news, Michel De Lauw was named vice-president and chief creative
officer of Cossette in Montreal.
